Navy forced Notre Dame to punt for the first time since 2004. Yes, the Midshipmen upset the Fighting Irish last year, but Notre Dame didn’t punt once. Notre Dame ran 246 offensive plays in between punts. Navy senior defensive end Steve Dorman busted through the line to stop Notre Dame on third down.
Meanwhile, at the start of the second quarter Navy has already punted four times. Its been a defensive battle thus far at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
