Miraculous comeback falls short: Notre Dame 27 Navy 21
Posted by Mike Hoffman on November 15th, 2008 filed in Army/Navy gameNavy did all they could but a fourth down pass from Ricky Dobbs sailed over his receivers head giving the ball back to Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish took a knee and killed the clock to end the game 27-21.
Notre Dame nation just let out a collective sigh of relief. It looks like only about 5,000 fans were left in the stands to see that incredible comeback.
Navy came oh so close to repeating history, but fell short. What an amazing effort by the Mids who stared down a 20 point deficit in the driving rain with four minutes to go. Dobbs just needed a few more minutes on the clock. Makes you wonder what would have happened if he was inserted into the lineup earlier in the game.
