Notre Dame looked to be marching in for its fourth touchdown of the day, but freshman running back Jonas Gray fumbled the ball on the five and Navy recovered. The referees had to review the play, but got it right after replays clearly showed the ball came out before Gray’s knee came down.
It still looks bleak for Navy still facing a 20 point deficit with four minutes to go as the rain and wind has forced much of the crowd to the parking lots early, but the Midshipmen won’t quit.
