Video: Scott Olsen since Occupy Oakland injury
November 29th, 2011 | Battle Rattle Marines | Posted by Chris Kelly
Our colleagues over at USA Today caught up with former Marine Cpl. Scott Olsen after recovering from a head injury sustained during the Occupy Oakland protests on October 25.
Olsen lost the ability to speak for a period of time, but is slowly regaining it. With a scar above his left eye, Olsen returned to the scene of the protests where he was hit by a projectile, resulting in a fractured skull.
The 24-year-old had this to say about his experience from the USA Today story:
Even when it comes to his injury, Olsen considers himself fortunate — and not just because he wasn’t killed. He said that as a veteran he was shown more honor and treated with more respect than many others under the same circumstances. “It almost seems,” he said with a shrug, “like I got lucky.”
Below is the video from the events of October 25:

Justin Timberlake accepts Marine Corps Ball invitation

At the same press event where Mila Kunis cleared the air about her invitation, Justin Timberlake accepted one as well.
The singer was invited by Cpl. Kelsey De Santis earlier this week and I’m guessing she’s feeling pretty good after watching the clip below.
Bored Marine Video: Marines get their Britney on

I’m not sure how we missed this one here on Battle Rattle, but thanks to USATODAY’s Lifeline Blog, we now know there are some motivated filmmakers in the Marine Corps.
Posted earlier this week, the video already has 150,000 views. The video was made by Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 266 (Reinforced) and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169 (HMLA-169).
Britney herself has seen it and loves it.

Seven-year-old Brit buys Harrier, Dad grounds him for a week

I’m kidding about the grounding part, but he wasn’t allowed to keep it.
Turns out the kid bought the Harrier Jump Jet T-Bird Aircraft XW269 on British eBay for $113,000. The listing for the item has been removed, but here are some of the Harriers that were previously sold by Jet Art Aviation. It should be noted that the aircraft was no where near flying condition.
Once the father discovered the purchase, he contacted Jet Art Aviation, explained the situation and everything was fixed.
It’s good to know that when you’re in need of some military equipment, you can always check eBay.
Bored Marine Video: The Tiger Song

So you might be asking yourself, what’s the Tiger Song? Well if you’re up to date on your movies from the past year, then you’ll quickly recognize it.
I have to admit, that Pfc. Tardy and Pfc. Norman are pretty good.
Note: There’s one bad word at the end, but otherwise it’s SFW.
Nailed it.
