And the winner is…

Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 Air Force Association National Aerospace and Specialty Awards, who will be feted later this month in Washington, D.C.

These are the honorees:

The Laser Joint Direct Attack Munition Team at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., received the Theodore von Karman Award for most outstanding contribution in the field of science and engineering.

The Gill Robb Wilson Award winner, for most outstanding contribution in the field of arts and letters is the Air Force Band at Bolling Air Force Base, D.C.

And these five units won the AFA’s Citation of Honor for most outstanding contribution by an individual or organization to the development of aerospace power:

11th Intelligence Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Fla.

703rd Aeronautical Systems Group, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

Enterprise Operations Squadron, Chantilly, Va.

563rd Rescue Group, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.
