I recently purchased your BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle Mod 4 and although it is extremely well made I too experienced finish wear along the flat area just in front and above where the buffer tube starts on my Rock River Arms .556 mm rifle. Outside of this, the product feels quite sturdy and makes charging the firearm a breeze either left or right handed on target or off.

The nice wide latch is enough reason to switch to the BCM handle. So much more comfortable than the GI one. I'd suggest to give it a try if you can.

I upgraded to the PRI handle and have yet to have an issue with it, even after two tours.

The lateral pressure on the charging handle is my biggest complain with the one I have on it right now... I've had it for about 6 years or so... I think it was one of the first versions of this to come out and I almost don't like to even use it for that reason.
I'm definitely going to look into this one.
Another great gallery of pics BTW

FED22,

Glad you liked the review, I try to call it like I see it. In the case of this item, there really is no down side to the BCM CH.

Stick,

Yet another good review you have put together of a modern AR component that enhances the overall functionality, and in many ways the ergonomics, of the AR platform. I replaced all of my standard charging handles in October with BCM Gunfighters. The BCM Gunfighter (any variant, regardless of personal tastes) should be a necessity in any unit--NOTE: MIL/LEO issue weapons NEED THIS upgrade for better function and strength. The Gunfighter is very strong, solid, and will stand up to repetitive cycling of the bolt unlike other enhanced designs--I have broken and worn down a few other manufacturer's models trying to clear minor jams in a single weekend. The Gunfighter has set a new benchmark for design, durability, and more importantly FUNCTION.

Thanks for your review--you are my primary source for product evals on AR components.
