South Korea North Korea Ship Sinks

Inside of Military Armistice Committee meeting room of Panmunjom is reflected on the South Korean soldier’s glasses at the truce village of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) that separates the two Koreas since the Korean War, north of Seoul, South Korea, Wednesday, April 28, 2010. South Korean government has not blamed North Korea outright for the disaster, one of South Korea’s worst, but suspicion has focused on the regime, given its history of provocation and attacks on wartime rival South Korea. APTOPIX Ukraine Russia Fleet

If you think that politics in America have gotten ugly, it pales in comparison to what  happened in the Ukrainian parliament yesterday. Ukrainian opposition and pro-presidential lawmakers broke into fist-fights during ratification of the Black Sea Fleet deal with Russia. Ukraine’s parliament has voted to extend Russia’s lease of a Crimean naval port for the Black Sea Fleet in a chaotic session during which eggs and smoke bombs were thrown. The countries’ presidents agreed last week to extend the Russian navy’s use of the Sevastopol port for another 25 years after the old lease expires in 2017. (AP Photo/Efrem Lukatsky)

Ever TDY? Then you know all about the 2000 or so pages of regulations guiding you through filling out your expense reports. David Fisher, director, Business Transformation Agency, Department of Defense, lifts a stack of binders containing the Joint Federal Travel Regulations and the Joint Travel Regulations after testifying before the House Armed Services subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations during a hearing on Defense Travel System titled "Simplifying Defense Travel: Improving the Defense Travel System for the User," on Captiol Hill in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. When Chairman Vic Snyder (D-AR) made a comment about possibly getting his hands on a copy of the regs at the end of the hearing, Fisher obliged.

It’s rarely pretty. It’s often not in regulation. And it’s a hassle to maintain, but the CAX Stache is a constant of pre-deployment training at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif. (Left to right, top to bottom) Capt.
