A photo posted January 25, 2012 in the Military Times Forums shows what appears to be an American service member holding a sign in front of a man that reads “I f##k sheep when I’m not busy mortaring the base”. A similar photograph was uploaded September 26, 2007 on Flicker: http://www.flickr.com/photos/providencedailydose/1445427060/ A cautionary tale, perhaps, of how a seemingly innocent photograph taken years ago gets new scrutiny. Especially true following recent news about videos showing Marines urinating on dead Taliban and US forces participating in the brutal beating of an animal.
Finally! No more ‘birth control glasses’

In the wake of the DoD's announcement of new standard-issue military glasses, a new study found that one out of five Marines is distraught over the loss of Birth Control Glasses. Correction: One Marine in the entire Marine Corps is upset about it. (U.S. Marine Corps photos by Sgt. Mark Fayloga)
Kudos to USMC Sgt. Mark Fayloga for his terrific photo series used to illustrate the military’s decision to finally dump those damn Birth Control Glasses. No longer fashionable for troops – maybe hipsters everywhere will begin buying ‘em up.

A marshaling Airman turns his back to avoid the inevitable cloud of spray, broken by bright sunlight, as Airmen finish spraying a C-17 Globemaster III from a Global Ground Support Aircraft Deicer truck at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Jan. 17, 2012. When ice forms in the extreme cold temperatures, it can throw off the aerodynamics of aircraft and risk the mission, equipment and lives. Maintainers use the deicer to ensure aircraft continue flying safely. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Robert Barnett)
