The famous Ranger Burger

My media escort, the always accommodating Sgt. 1st Class Riley Seau, recommended we lunch on Sunday at the place where all the soldiers go after completing Ranger School: Four Winds Restaurant, which, according to its sign outside, is “Home of the Ranger Burger.” Naturally, I ordered one. This delectable monstrosity weighs one pound and comes loaded with two meat patties, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, bacon and a side of fries. For the record: I beat Sgt. 1st Class Seau, even though we weren’t eating competitively. (I didn’t eat the rest of the day.) I also met the owner of the restaurant, Susan Cox, and her sister, Beth Swedberg, who made fun of me for using a straw with my glass jar of ice tea. “Look who’s using the sissy stick,” she said in her charming Georgian twang.
