The last tactical mile, er, movies

(First of all, as of 9:20, there were still Under Armour shirts and Oakley shades to be given away.)
The last day of the GIFF promises to be the best and absolutely the busiest. Today starts off with “A Call to Arms,” a documentary about the anthrax vaccine, rolls right into a panel on the protrayal of troops in the media, and hurtles on to “The Last 600 Meters,” a work-in-progress documenting the battles of Najaf and Fallujah. There’s also “The Undefeated: Why We Fight,” a documentary made by interviewing “a diverse group of currently serving members of the U.S. Army” about being deployed to Iraq.
In the feature category, the GIFF offers up “Soldier’s Heart,” about a Vietnam vet struggling through PTSD in the present day; and “The World Without Us,” which asks what the world would look like if all U.S. troops withdrew from foreign countries.
There are a couple of short films on top of that. And tonight wraps up the GIFF with the “Best of” awards.
Gonna be a busy day.
