Service academy sports fans here in the National Capital Region will be pleased to hear that the yearly gridiron classic known as the Army-Navy Game — although with the record of the last few match-ups, maybe it should be called the Navy Beats Army Game — is coming to Washington, D.C.

Not until 2011. But still.

Most of the upcoming games will be played in the traditional “neutral” venue of Philadelphia, but Baltimore is also getting two of them. Which leads to a natural question — has Navy’s dominance in the rivalry caused the selection of venues that are more convenient to Annapolis? Is it fair that Baltimore and Washington are so much closer to the Yard?
