Navy Times, of course, never sleeps, but the Deck will be secured for the holiday weekend, to commemorate the titanic event that freed us Americans from tea times, driving on the wrong side of the street and words like “colour” and “tyre.” Enjoy the summer weekend, whether it includes fireworks observation operations or standing watch, and if you’re deployed, know that people here will be thinking about you:
Across the country, Americans gather on this holiday to celebrate the freedoms we all enjoy. As they do, their thoughts turn to you, who stand the watch on land and sea, beneath the waves and in the air. From the first state to the last frontier, Americans everywhere are thankful for your service, proud of your accomplishments and wish you Godspeed.
