America’s appetite for information about the amphibious transport dock New York is insatiable, and it’ll reach a fever pitch in just a few weeks when the ship is commissioned in its namesake city. If you’re one of those who just can’t get enough LPD 21, you’re in luck — now you can access a mainline straight from the crew, in a real-life sailor’s blog about life on board.
OS2 (SW) Cecilia Fosu, who hails from Newark, N.J., just across the river from New York, is blogging about the Navy lifestyle for the New York Post in advance of the ship’s arrival in Manhattan Nov. 2. She is studying to be a nurse and wants to become an officer, and we’ll be keeping an eye on her posts as the big day gets closer.
