See for yourself: UAV smuggler take-down

You read about it here on the Deck, and now you can see it for yourself — hot off SIPRNET, here’s the raw video from the Fire Scout that spotted and tracked a suspected drug rendezvous in the Eastern Pacific last week.
A few viewing notes: It’s a familiar FLIR small-boat show until about 3:33, when — what’s this? — our guys meet up with another mysterious vessel. At 3:58 you can get a clear view of the beginnings of a drug-fleet underway replenishment. The show skips ahead slightly and then at 5:10 the frigate McInerney charges in to make the bust, throwing out all kinds of heat from its main engines.
What happened during the missing time? Presumably, that’s when the suspected drug-runners saw the Navy coming and started throwing their product overboard — about 200 kilos of it, officials claimed.
