Wanted: More photos of this helicopter

Two very interesting things in this image by MCSN Danielle Brandt: First, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force carrier “helicopter destroyer” Hyuga is outbound from Yokosuka at apparently the same time as the U.S. carrier George Washington, not pictured, suggesting they could be exercising together in the Western Pacific. One reason we know GW is nearby is that’s one of its helicopters, an SH-60 Seahawk from HS-14, the “Chargers.” Second interesting thing: It’s got the coolest tail boom art of all time.
Although it’s kind of blurry in this image, the tail art on this bird appears to show Mt. Fuji and a wave, in a clear homage to the iconic ukiyo-e prints of Japanese master Katsushika Hokusai — even if you don’t know the name, you know the images.
We’d love to get a closer look at this helo and post the pix here on the Deck — if you have any more images you can send, as well as details about the origin of its Great Wave, please aim them toward the Inbox of Excellence.
