About the Military Times Hall of Valor

Welcome to the Military Times Hall of Valor

  1. What is the Hall of Valor?

The Hall of Valor is a searchable database of valor award citations researched by historian Doug Sterner. All recipients in the database are verified by such source material as the official award citations as well as records from the National Archives.

  2. How do I use it?

You can search the database by typing in a name, conflict or any term that might be found in the individual's citation into the search box on the front page or at the top of all Hall of Valor pages. You can also search broader categories like conflict and branch of service by using the navigation at the top of each page.

  3. What valor awards can you search for?

Currently the database has 18,348 citations from conflicts since the civil war. We are currently building our database of citations for the Global War on Terrorism. If you have any information, please contact us
