You must have forgotten, POGS aka "non war heroes" are no longer allowed to voice their opinions since they do not count as real Marines

[size="4"]SGT GRANDPA,

As the father of a very proud marine. you must have ur head up your you know what. every marine is a marine they are taught that from boot camp. My son and his marines are on call 24-7 for they never know when the boss in washington will call them to go. One a marine always a marin. there is no way that marines are soldiers. marines can go on board ship. As the father of a very proud marine it is an insult to one of the proudest services to call them soldiers. Well except the navy which along with marines have the proudest traditions. So sgt grandpa you had better get your facts straight. FYI In world war I the marines served under genral john pershing. the long of it was they kicked butt and the army was envious off the corps.

SEMPER FI!

I called my Marine a soldier ONCE when he got out of boot camp.I was immediately corrected and NEVER made that mistake again. I studied more and researched more. THEY ARE MARINES!!!

HAHA well I guess since we aren't considered real Marines by the grunts we should just stop doing our jobs. The admin Marines should quit paying them, the chow hall Marines should stop feeding them, the armory Marines should stop issuing them weapons, and the air wing Marines should stop giving them air support when they get pinned down. Wow that's a pretty good idea. Then lets see if these grunts think they're Rambo still with no pay, no chow, no weapons, and no air support. Maybe they could pick up rocks and sticks and fight their way through. But hey what do I know I'm not a real Marine after all.

PO2 (ret) HE'BERT: No disrespect, but "slow your roll!!". first off, I was a (and am still in my heart) a SeaBee. Despite the fact that I am also in the Army, I have been around enough members of ALL services.

so let me address your concerns in an orderly fashion:
1) All services are on call 24-7, not just the Marines
2) The Marine Corp was under the Navy (actually still is) much like the Air Force was under the Army. The SeaBees are also part of the Navy, but they dress more like Marines
3) The Army has SHIPS ALSO which they run, work on, and deploy with.
4) and all the services are under Maj. Gen. Frank Hagenbeck ... and he is ARMY,
5) I noticed that you never once capitlaized the "M" in Marine. If you are so proud of your son (and I am positive you are) then you should also know that you never spell Marine with out a BIG M.
6) there have been several "old salts" of various services that have specifically stated that Marines are the toughest around, based on missions, training, and Basic. I include MYSELF in that if you would please re-read my post. I also have had several Marines comment that while that don't necessarily agree 100% with my statement, they believe that the basis of my comments are true.

So PO2 (ret) Kirby HE'BERT... I understand your anger (misplaced IMHO), but please, my comments are not meant to incite bashing... only to provide information as pertains to the discussion. Thank you for your service, tell your son congrats on becoming a Marine, and welcome to the Boards.\
