Iraq war vet beaten to death in bar brawl

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Authorities say an Iraq war veteran has been beaten to death with chairs and a table inside a Greenville nightclub.
Greenville County deputies say Christopher Duckett, 30, was sitting at the bar when he was attacked around 2 a.m. Thursday by two men and wasn’t breathing by the time paramedics arrived.
Master Deputy Michael Hildebrand says the beating of Duckett was apparently connected to a fight between his friends and acquaintances of the suspects.
The coroner’s office plans an autopsy.
Deputies have issued murder warrants for 21-year-old Marques Durant and 30-year-old Robert James Moore.
Duckett’s family told WYFF-TV that he joined the Marines after high school and served in Japan and Iraq.
