Sailor charged with 3 counts of child rape

A member of the submarine Ohio’s crew is being held at a Washington state jail after he was arrested by Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents and charged with three counts of child rape.
Chief Electronics Technician David Allan Holmes, 39, was arrested Aug. 26 and is being held at the Kitsap County Jail on $200,000 bond, according to jail officials.
Charging statements provided by the Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office say Holmes had sex with a female relative over a two year period and also sexually molested a male relative. The victims were between 8 and 15 years old when the incidents occurred.
Charging statements say Holmes also admitted to having stored child pornography on his personal computer. Holmes, who enlisted in 1990, was 2006 Sailor of the Year for Submarine Development Squadron 5 based at Silverdale, Wash.
He also served on the submarine Parche from 2002 to 2005. He is assigned to the Ohio’s blue crew.
No trial date has been set.
