An Army medic in Tennessee has been charged with raping and killing his 9-month-old daughter, according to the Associated Press.

Christopher Paul Conway, 22, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with homicide and aggravated rape, the AP reports.

A cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck, causing her death, according to a statement from the Clarksville Police Department.

According to Conway’s Facebook page, he’s an Army combat medic at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, from Grand Bay, Alabama, and has twin daughters.

Police responded to Conway’s home Tuesday morning after someone called to say CPR was being performed on the baby. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead with injuries consistent with being raped, AP said.

Conway is being held in the Montgomery County Jail, and police said he confessed to both the rape and homicide.

The victim’s sister has reportedly been taken into state custody, according to AP.

A judge denied bond on the homicide charge, saying this could be a death-penalty case, the AP report said.
