Philadelphia is calling you.
The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp. is on a mission to get more service members and families to visit the city, offering a variety of discounts and deals through Veterans Day.
For example, admission to the Betsy Ross House, normally $3 for adults and $2 for children, is free for military families. Eleven restaurants are offering discounts, and you can get $1 off miniature golf and carousel rides for everyone in your group at Franklin Square. Three of six hotels in historic Philadelphia offer military rates.
For a complete list and terms, go to www.gophila.com/history and click on the “Dear Serving in the Military” icon at the bottom.
To make sure you get the most bang for your buck, check with your installation’s morale, welfare and recreation tickets and tours office to see if it has some special deals for Philadelphia, too. Then you can pick and choose the best.
