27, of Durham, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Dec. 29 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Baghdad.
