The headliners of another busy week of budget hearings will be Defense Secretary Ash Carter and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, who appear before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday to justify the White House's fiscal 2016 request.
It's the first appearance by Carter since his confirmation, and should provide tougher questions from lawmakers than his nomination hearings did.
VA Secretary Bob McDonald is also back on the Hill to talk about his agency's budget request, and leaders of the four services will all make appearances on the budget circuit throughout the week.
