A U.S. service member died Tuesday in a non-combat related incident while deployed to eastern Afghanistan, according to a release from U.S. Forces-Afghanistan.
USFA did not release the the service member’s name, as the Defense Department releases names of deceased troops 24 hours after notification of next-of-kin.

The incident is under investigation, the release said. The service member’s death came a day after one American was killed and another wounded in a possible insider attack, also in eastern Afghanistan.
This brings to seven the number of U.S. troops who have died in Afghanistan this year.
