From the beginning, U.S. troops have had to train and fight in some of the harshest weather conditions imaginable, the latest being perhaps the recent ICEX Arctic training.
But how has the military prepared service members for these conditions?
One way during World War II was through training films involving questionable acting. The film above, for example, was produced by the Army Air Forces in 1943 to demonstrate what to do ― and not do ― to survive in the Arctic. It’s a long video, so feel free to skip around.
