Eclipse Performance Gear, an arm of BAE Systems, gave GearScout a firsthand look at an awesome array of tactical and practical gear. We'll be posting the top picks throughout the day, so keep checking for updates.
In the meantime, may we introduce you to the RBAV-AF, a releasable body armor vest designed for the Air Force with a focus on pararescuemen. While it is of value to any warfighter, this vest has specific enhancements that will get thumbs up from special operators and combat medics for whom accessible space is a premium.
Developed over two years, the vest has integrated a kangaroo pouch and modular side pockets that can fully contain batteries and other equipment. An updated release mechanism requires the wearer to simply pull out instead of down. The back has a lot more MOLLE real estate and includes a hydration system.
The $950 kit comes with a "MOLLE blanket" that contains the variety of pouches rolled into a convenient package that is shown below. This enables the combatant to easily carry the full spectrum from which they can pick and choose to cover mission requirements.
