Tyler Jordan has stepped down as as President, CEO and board member of Arc'teryx Equipment. The news came last night as employees prepared for their biannual sales meeting at the company's headquarters in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Arc'teryx employees were notified of Jordan's resignation in a company-wide email sent Monday, 5/28/2012, signed by Amer Sports President of Apparel, Andy Towne. The email expressed Towne's intention to harness the company's creative and commercial potential and grow its business five times it's current size. Arcteryx is owned by European sporting and recreational equipment giant, Amer Sports whose portfolio also includes Salomon, Wilson, Suunto, Atomic, Mavic and other outdoor equipment brands.

The stewardship of the company is being shared among the company's top executives, Lance Richardson, Vice President of Operations, Paul Blanchette, Controller, and Gary Bryant, Vice President of Product and Merchandising, as the search for a new CEO is underway.

Jordan was promoted to CEO of Arc'teryx Equipment in 2005, shortly before parent company, Adidas, sold the brand as part of the Salomon Group to Amer Sports. He was the Senior Vice President at the time of his promotion and replaced Tom Herbst, who semi-retired as CEO and still works with the company.

Jordan joined Rock Solid Manufacturing in 1993 as "administrator" and bookkeeper. The Canadian climbing equipment manufacturer would come to be known as Arc'teryx Equipment.

Arc'teryx Equipment designed the US Marine Corps ILBE pack system that was fielded in 2006.
