Not just because it is a cool gun gear gadget, but because it shows a continual refinement of the M16/ AR15 system as a whole. Adjustable gas systems are nothing new, though they are not an item seen on the military M4, or most civilian AR15 variants. The FN FAL is one of the most common military weapons in the past few decades, and I've had users of it comment to me that adjusting the gas on the FAL was common place. Dirty weapons like a little more gas, hotter ammo needs less. Adjust as needed and press on. With the M4 and AR15, adjustment of the gas flow serves to fine tune the weapon for many of the same reasons.
