Leupold has updated their DeltaPoint mini red dot sight, addressing some gripes users had with the original version. The DeltaPoint 2 now has a kill switch that overrides the motion sensing power activation that would turn the unit on and drain the battery when it was riding in a car or knocked during storage. I'd still like to see some kind of sensor that turns the optic on when you break leather, instead of burning battery life when it's riding around activated on a holstered weapon during patrols or watch shifts. The field of view has been increased and the surface coating has been reformulated to reduce glare on its black surface. And, the last and likely the most appreciated change is a new battery placement that no longer requires the unit to me unmounted from the host weapon for a battery swap.
The MSRP of the DeltaPoint 2 is $499, unchanged from the original unit's price.
