There are 3 models of the GGG's personal armor plates—3600, the 3619 and the 4400, with different cuts for each model. Each is NIJ certified and each weighs from 1 to 10 lbs, depending on the style and shape. GGG stresses the affordability of their new plates.

The "Active Shooter" model, for instance, cost $200. Others models go up to $500—the most expensive, rated to withstand rifle hits from .30 caliber rifle rounds, cost less than $500.

The new composite armor includes Level III, Level III+ and Level IV plates by NIJ (National Institute of Justice) 0101.06 Standard. It will be available to military, LEOs and citizens with concealed carry permit (CCW/CHL, etc.) in good standing in their home state. (All state and local laws will apply.)

A limited number of plates will come with printed with special instructions to help the user orient them.

GGG CEO Casey Ingels, says "These plates and our intention to put them in the hands of responsible citizens is a natural extension of the Grey Ghost Gear ethos."

One model of these plates, the Level III Stand Alone Model 3600, is neutrally buoyant in all 3 styles. SAPI Cut Multi Curve Front/Back Plates, Swimmer/Shooter Cut Multi Curve Front/Back Plates and Gamma Cut Single Curve Front/Back Plates—all of these UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) are multi shot rated, and will float. They are as light as 2 lbs.

The 3610 Level III + Stand Alone ceramic/composite design provides light AP protection and is multi shot rated and weighs from 3.1 (small SAPI) to 6.2 (extra large SAPI) lbs. A medium Shooter's Cut is 4.3 lbs.

The Model 4400 Level IV Stand Alone ceramic/FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plates) personal armor plates are also multi shot rated. They provide protection against threat profiles as high as the AK-47, FN-FAL and Dragunov and weigh from 5.4 to 10.9 lbs.

GGG says it will not restrict the sale of its armor plates to military and LE purchasers.
