SOFIC 2014: Magpul M-Lok video explains how it works

Magpul brought a few M-Lok compatible  handguards and rail components to SOFIC 2014 along with some new armorers tools and slimline AR furnture that we'll show you shortly. First, we want to share this video Magpul had playing with the M-Lok display. It shows the way their new accessory mounting system works far better than the written descriptions we've seen.

We've heard the M-Lok system is attractive to manufacturers because it is easier and less expensive to produce than competing systems. The downside is the back face of the handguard must be flat for the cam nut to engage properly. Some handguards, especially thin, tubular models won't have enough material to support a flat back and would require an entire redesign for M-Lok compatibility.
