The American-made is built burly and has a feature set that pro armorers will appreciate. The wrench is solid steel with a grip-enhancing phosphate finish. It engages both Mil-Spec and pin-style barrel nuts, fits standard sized flash hiders, installs and removes rifle receiver extensions and carbine castle nuts and has extended teeth for use with ASAP plates. There are two hammer faces that will come in handy when frustration overrides skill. It works with 1/2" torque wrench with relevant torque specifications on the tool for quick reference. Lastly, there is a bottle opener for refreshments after the build is complete (fits both Metric and SAE bottle caps.) more
The BEV Block (Barrel Extension Vise) ($50) is an all-in-one, compact vise block tool for AR assembly operations of barrel nuts, flash hiders, etc. It mounts securely in a vise and provides support for both billet and forged upper and lower receivers. It engages barrel extension with solid steel lugs and full length support shank to prevent flexing. The lug insert is optimized for durability yet won't damage barrel extension while Magpul Polymer is used on all other engagement surfaces to protect your aluminum receiver. An o-ring post uses the bolt carrier for additional stability and the included pivot pin keeps the upper in the proper position. I'm eager to see how the BEV compares to Geissele's Reaction Rod tool.
