US Army Marksmanship Unit Staff Sgt. Daniel Horner seems like he can win a 3-gun title no matter what he shoulders. Last year he brought 300AAC to the podium, and this year he's shown that Proof Research's composite carbon fiber barrels are capable of elite level match performance. Congrats to Horner for taking another 3-gun championship title.

According to Proof Research, Horner swapped out a 12.5" steel barrel for their 16" carbon fiber barrel a few weeks ago. "Competition at this level is decided in 10ths of seconds and one point at a time," said the company in a press release, "For Daniel to have chosen our barrel for the Finale is a real honor."

Horner battled 32 of the nation's top 3-gun competitors for the National Champion title, including two elimination matches against fellow AMU Shooting Team member Sgt. Matthew Sweeney.

The 2014 3-Gun Nation (3GN) Pro Series Championship Finale was the culmination of a six- event series held throughout the year, in which shooters competed in the same division (tactical optics) to qualify for the championship match.

Horner's win makes him the only competitor to have won two 3GN Championships since the series began in 2010. In addition to his title Horner took home a $50,000 check courtesy of Leupold Tactical Optics and NRA Sports.
