Last Shadow, Texas’s premier helicopter hunting company, is extremely proud to announce that the merging of another fine aerial experience and hog eradication provider, Hog Birds, into its operation.
The merger will expand the fleet of available aircraft and significantly increase capabilities. The timing of this merger could not be better, because they’ve also just added a south Texas operation to the lineup of Last Shadow services and capabilities, making LS the largest helicopter hog hunting company in the world.
The new relationship will not change Last Shadow’s fundamental mission and ethos, but rather will complement both and provide greater capabilities. Last Shadow will continue to provide unmatched adventure experiences, and will maintain its preeminent position among organizations that provide aerial eradication of feral hogs.
Nightvision and thermal night hunt capabilities will remain an option to all parties, but will be joined by the opportunity to enjoy a “cast and blast” — all-inclusive exotic hunts, deep sea fishing, and other experiences.
A sample “Texas Safari” might be scheduled something like this:
· You fly in to Austin or DFW and are picked up by car, plane, or helicopter
· You spend some training, then go up in a Little Bird to hunt feral hogs for the day, or
· You travel to south Texas for cast and blast, a nilgai or white tail hunt for two days, or
· You and your friends/coworkers/teammates spend a long weekend doing all of it.
All sorts of customized retreats and team-building exercises are available.
Adventure-seekers, hunters, and corporate team-building participants have the choice of flying in an MD600N, an MD500E, or M500C model air frame over a quarter of a million acres of land infested by the invasive wild hogs that cause hundreds of millions of dollars in damage to farmers and ranchers every year. The MD600N will safely accommodate up to 4 shooters at a time, while the MD500E and MD500C helos will take two riders each up for a “Little Bird” aerial gunnery experience.
Last Shadow is based in Temple, TX. It conducts aerial gunnery IAW the guidelines and techniques of the Department of the Interior program for Aerial Capture, Eradication, and Tagging of Animals (ACETA). Last Shadow’s chief pilot has been flying for 35 years and has over 15,000 hours flying time. He is the John Wick of MD helicopters.
