Let's all raise our hands in victory -- CamelBak has put pockets on the FRONT of their running packs. No longer will you have to twist around, dislocate a shoulder, cry for help or all-out stop and take off your pack to get to into the pockets.

The 2012 Marathoner vest (front and back, above) is a 70oz pack with bottle pockets on the front, a extra-large mesh pocket on the back to stash a jacket and CamelBak's Antidote reservoir with the quick release tube. Available now (here), MSRP: $100.

The Octane LR is the newest addition to the Octane family. This pack has CamelBak's lumbar reservoir, so the weight of the water rides low and close to your waist, which should minimize some shoulder strain. It also has the Antidote reservoir with the quick release tube, so there's no excuse not to clean it when you're done. This pack has an even bigger mesh cargo pocket, and two side pockets on the belt for even more storage (549 cubic inches total). Available now (here), MSRP: $89.

Both have the hook-and-loop adjustment system so you can change the length of the straps, plus the dual Slider™ Sternum Straps for an even more custom fit.

We're going to try to get these soon to gear test, so check back for a full review in a few weeks.
