In a symbolic moment, 75 Soldiers from Company C, 2nd Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, based in Baumholder, Germany, joined military units from Russia, Great Britain, France, Poland and member nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the 65th Victory Day parade through Red Square in Moscow, May 9th. It is the first time an active-duty U.S. Army unit, carrying the American flag and representing the United States, has marched in the parade along with an estimated 11,000 other troops and hundreds of tanks, missiles and military aircraft.

Russian Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets shoot flares while flying over St. Basil's cathedral during the Victory Day parade which commemorates the 65th anniversary of the allies' victory over the Axis powers during World War II.
