In honor of Veterans Day, Gary Linfoot took a short walk around the Statue of Liberty. Nothing extraorinary except that Linfoot , a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer and former helicopter pilot with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) has been paralyzed from the waist down since his AH-6 "Little Bird" helicopter experienced a catastrophic mechanical malfunction and crashed in Iraq over five years ago. Now thanks to the Infinite Hero Foundation, Esko Bionics and the Airpower Foundation, he became the first military veteran to receive an Ekso bionic exoskeleton for personal use, giving him the ability to stand up and walk again.
