3 years ago Three soldiers will receive the Medal of Honor on Thursday. For two, it took longer than usual. Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn Cashe will be the first Black U.S. service member to receive the Medal of Honor since Vietnam. The three soldiers will be honored in the coming weeks. The 3rd Infantry Division renamed its ceremonial garden after Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn Cashe, an Iraq War hero. U.S.-led diplomacy on North Korea’s nuclear program remains stalemated for about two years because of disputes over U.S.-led sanctions on the North. Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Leroy Manor served as a pilot in WWII and planned the Son Tay Raid in Vietnam. He died just four days after his 100th birthday. By Harm Venhuizen
