Lawmakers want to see more detailed plans for collaborative combat aircraft and the Next Generation Air Dominance platform.
They worry that if A-10s at Guard bases in Maryland and Michigan retire without a replacement, those squadrons could lose their fighter missions.
The Air Force said Monday it plans to bring two F-35A squadrons to the Valdosta base starting in fiscal 2029.
The Air Force says it is still "working through the details" of the new organization, currently dubbed the "492nd Power Projection Wing."
