Marine Corps faces 'critical gap' in scout snipers, looks to overhaul training

The two skills sniper students struggle with are stalking and marksmanship, so the Marine Corps plans to overhaul the way snipers are trained. The 79-day sniper course will be broken up into two parts, basic and advanced. In between schools, sniper students will spend time in an operational unit honing their skills.
