What Memorial Day is really about

Allison Maslow is a former Army captain and Iraq War veteran who is doing her best to celebrate Memorial Day. She told the press, “You can see it in people’s faces that they’re a little horrified that they forget this is what the day’s about. Culturally, we’ve kind of lost sight of what the day’s supposed to mean.” Maslow wants everyone to remember it’s not just a day off it’s a day to commemorate fallen troops. People who died on behalf of the United States of America and for citizens to stay safe.
